OxyCare Uganda won D-Prize to launch this year expanding access to medical oxygen in northern Uganda. We do this by identifying and repairing non-functional oxygen concentrators in last mile medical facilities.
In our pilot, the team partnered with four facilities to repair 36 Oxygen concentrators to save lives. In the next few months they’re adding eight more facilities as they work to scale to serve the entire district.
“Without D-Prize, OxyCare Uganda would not have come to fruition,” says co-founder Solomon Piwun. “This funding serves as a crucial steppingstone, positioning us to build a sustainable future as we expand our low-cost, sustainable services to over 100 hospitals throughout Northern Uganda.”
