Introducing the ACCESS O₂ Project
At OxyCare Uganda, we are proud to introduce you to the ACCESS O₂ Project, an innovative initiative “Expanding Access to Medical Oxygen through Solar-Powered Oxygen Plants (ACCESS O2)” in remote hospitals.
Despite oxygen being an essential medicine, many remote health facilities in Uganda still struggle with reliable access, putting newborns and children under-5 at greatest risk.

What ACCESS O₂ will do:
1. Deploy five (5) solar-powered oxygen generation (PSA) plants (

#O2Cubes) in 5 neonatal intensive care unit facilities.
2. Use the

#spoke oxygen distribution model to serve 20 hospitals - the hub (facility with O2 Cube) and other nearby spokes (health facilities in need of oxygen)
3. Strengthen biomedical capacity through training and maintenance of oxygen concentrators
4. Improve survival for children under-5 with respiratory conditions

Our funder
We are deeply honored to be supported by the Children's Prize Foundation, whose investment in infrastructure for life is enabling us to implement this life-saving work and reach 20 hospitals in the Northern and Central regions.

Our Partners & Collaborators
We will work with:
Ministry of Health - Uganda (Technical, strategic support, and capacity building)
LeanMed, LLC (O2 Cube innovation and support)
Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) (Research and Impact evaluation)
Kiwoko Hospital
Health facilities and local partners across the implementing regions

Together, we are building resilient, locally driven solutions to ensure that no child dies due to lack of oxygen: Saving lives with accessible medical oxygen in remote areas.
Thank you to D-Prize for initially believing in what OxyCare Uganda would become today.
